Echo & Trace is a memory book created to hold a life story.
It includes 25 carefully designed prompts to guide reflection, along with 5 QR codes for recording voice.
Each book also comes with 10 years of cloud safeguarding (renewable), so memories are not only written, but can be heard again.
- Who is this book for?
The first edition of Echo & Trace is created for Dad.
In time, there will be more editions for the different people who shape our lives.

- Will my family be willing to fill it out?
Many people worry it might feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable.
Our experience is this: once they read the first question, most people naturally begin to speak. You don't need to explain much. Just place the book in their hands.
- Can I customise the content?
Customisation isn't available just yet, but it's part of what we're building toward.
We'll share more when it's ready.
- Why start now?
Because some stories don't wait until we feel ready. Starting now is what allows them to be heard again, someday.
- Can I do this later?
Of course you can. But some stories may not still be there, when you are ready to ask.
Voice Preservation & Security
- What is the QR Code in the book for?
The QR Code is the gateway to the voice system. By scanning it, you can listen to your family's stories and voices. If you are the owner of the book, you can also enter your PIN to record or edit audio. You can download your recordinds at any time, and keep them on your own device.
- Do I need to download an app or sign up?
No. There's no app, and no registration required. Simply enter your Book ID or PIN, and you can listen or record right away.
- How long are the recordings kept?
Each Echo & Trace book comes with a space where voices are carefully kept. We currently offer up to 10 years of voice safeguarding (included), so these voices can still be heard in the future. Service details and duration may be adjusted over time as the system evolves.
We will continue to care for these recordings, and keep them safe as best as we can.
- What happens if I don't renew the service?
We will send multiple reminders and provide a full download link starting 3 months before the service ends. After expiry, there is a 3 month grace period before any recordings are securely removed.
- Is there a limit on recording length?
To ensure smooth playback across devices, we recommend each recording be around 10-15 minutes. This is usually enough to hold what matters most. (The system will provide a clear limit during recording.)
- How many recordings can each book hold?
Each book contains five chapters, with one recording for each, a total of 5 recordings.
- If I change phones, can I still access the recordings?
Yes.
As long as you have the Book ID and the QR code in the book, you can access the recordings from any device.
- What if I'm not very familiar with using a phone?
We designed the process to be simple:
"Scan, press record, finish."
No apps. No complicated steps.
And if needed, this can also be a moment to sit down together, and do it side by side with your loved ones.
- Do I have to follow the questions?
There's no right way to do this.
This book isn't a task. It's an invitation.

That alone, will mean everything.

- How long does it take to ship after placing an order?
Each Echo & Trace book is marked by hand with its own unique ID and PIN.
We take a little time to prepare it properly. Orders are usually completed and shipped within 3-5 business days.
- Where can I purchase this book?
Echo & Trace is currently available only through our official website.
- Can I send it directly as a gift?
Yes. You can enter the recipient's address at checkout, and have it sent directly as a complete gift.
- What payment methods are available?
We support a range of payment options, including credit cards, and PayPal.
- Do you ship internationally?
Yes.
We currently ship to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. International orders are sent via global courier services.
- How is international shipping calculated?
Shipping fees are calculated automatically based on destination and weight, and will be shown at checkout.
- What if I'm not very familiar with using a phone?

Memory Guide
- How should this book be used?
You can follow the prompts, or leave your stories in your own way.
Write, draw, or place photographs, whatever feels natural to you.
And the end of each chapter, scan the QR code to record the stories you want to keep.
- What is the best way to use this book?
One way to make the most of it, is to become your family's interviewer.
Ask the questions that don't usually get asked. Open the kind of conversations that are gentle, and deeper than usual.
This is not just about recording. It's a chance to grow closer.
- Do I have to finish it all at once?
No.
You can move at your own pace.
Write slowly, record when you feel ready.
There is no deadline. There are no right answers.
Starting is already enough.
- What if I don't know where to begin?
Start with the part you most want to be remembered for.
There's no need to follow the order. Begin where something feels real.
- Can I write this for myself?
Of course.
Although this edition is written "For Dad," you can also write in your own voice, for your children, or for the people you love.
This can become your own story, kept for the future.
Because the value doesn't come from who asks the questions, but from who is remembered.
Privacy Promise & Protection
- Are my recordings private? Can others access them?
Your voice is deeply personal.
Each book comes with a unique encrypted Book ID. Only those who have the physical book (by scanning the QR code) or hold access permissions can play the recordings.
- Will my recordings be used for AI training?
No.
Echo & Trace will never use your recordings for AI training or any commercial purpose.
- What if I accidentally delete or overwrite a recording?
Don't worry.
Before any recording is deleted or replaced, the system will always require PIN confirmation.
We recommend keeping your PIN card safe.
As long as it stays with you, your recordings remain securely protected.
- What happens if Echo & Trace ceases operation in the future?
We have a memory protection plan in place.
If the service changes in any way, we will notify all users at least one year in advance, and provide a complete download of all recordings.
So every voice can be safely return to you.
